Additive, Not Subtractive
Machining a case means starting with more steel than you need and removing the difference. Our cases leave the build chamber with more than 85% of their final geometry already resolved.

Sintering for Strength
Our powder begins as recycled high-grade metal scrap, not freshly mined ore. Powder that isn't fused into a case is recovered from the build chamber and returned to the next build.

Built After It’s Bought
Most products are manufactured in the hope that someone will want them. Every Parivas watch is built for someone who has already chosen it. There is no overproduction, no dead inventory, and nothing to destroy.

Subtractive manufacturing is the foundation of nearly all watchmaking. A machine holds a solid piece of material and cuts it down until a case remains. What comes off, often the majority of what you started with, becomes chips. The process is precise, proven, and entirely appropriate for the geometry it produces.
It is also the reason the Exo.1 could not be made that way. The lattice has no tool path. There is no cutter that reaches inside a continuous three-dimensional structure. We did not choose additive manufacturing to reduce waste. We chose it because the design demanded it. The material efficiency is a consequence of that decision, not a justification for it.

Source
Recycled high-grade metal scrap is the primary feedstock for our printing powder.

Atomize
The material is melted, atomized, solidified and graded into powder. This is where purity and particle uniformity are established

Build
Laser powder bed fusion resolves the case layer by layer. Material is placed only where the geometry requires it.

Recover
Powder that was not fused is vacuumed from the build chamber and returned to the material bay for the next build.

Return
Powder that has reached the end of its useful life is sent back to the foundry to be remelted and re-atomized.
